This is the original paperback for which the painting was commissioned. The picture has since appeared on many sites labelled Smaug over Torreon, and no amount of rectifying on my part seems to help.
So, once and for all folks, it ain't Smaug, and that's not Torreon. It does have the distinction of being my very first job for an American paperback, though...
