The Opened Cage
The sea rises and flows into the glass-blower's shop.
The staircase is from Rembrandt's magnificent painting "The Alchemist", the window from a building in Troyes, and the cage from a medieval miniature.
As for the glass-blower's bench, it's a little anachronic, being of a design a century or two more recent... from Diderot's famous Encyclopedia of Trades.
