Volcanic Dragons
A Diversity of Dragons
by Anne MacCaffrey and Richard Woods
Simon and Shuster 1997
Image done as a filler, basically, to be used with the index, hence all the flat colour. But, certainly a good excuse to indulge.
Dragons have such evident tectonic and volcanic aspects, that the idea of a region something like Iceland wirh an entirely draconic landscape was really appealing. Pictures like this one are like shorthand - quickly done, then packed away in those dark drawers of your mind for future use.
