Dragon's Curse - second sketch
Dragon's Curse
After the initial sketch was turned down, not being "dramatic" enough, I went on and did this one.
I was still pleased enough, the face obscured by his hair, the hands gripping the blade, the awkward turned-in feet, everything poised on that fatal instant.
It wasn't right either. The back was too "rounded" and he looked "depressed". (I wouldn't have been all jolly at throwing myself on my sword, but fine...) We "needed to see his face", so I was asked to straighten his back and make him appear "more angry".
So, I did another sketch, pretty much what I ended up doing in colour - and hating every second of it.
