The Limbreth Gate - sketch
Another sketch done for one of Megan's early novels. I couldn't for the life of me remember the title, as I sent Megan's precious copies back (I did, honest!) and of course, as I didn't end up doing the new covers, don't have copies of the books...
(Thankfully, one of the benefits of working for living authors is that you can write to them to ask. It is called The Limbreth Gate.)
It was a wonderfully eerie scene from the story, though; a demon portal that appears in a blank wall, complete with twisted, faceless guardian and hideous sculptures, all swimming in a thick red glow. I felt that Kera (at least I can recall the heroine's name, I hope...) would face this passage to the unknown parallel world with total stoicism. (The horse's head is not so great, I admit, but I would have rectified that in the colour version, I promise.)
