Hi Mr Howe,

I just wanted to thank you for the Fantasy Art Workshop book. I love it. Not sure what get's me so interested the actual illustrations, the walk through process or the words, perhaps it is a combination of all 3. For me it is a winner and a must have for anyone attempting Fantasy Art. I was instantly inspired and created a new sketch (the first for a long time)and it only took 50 mins. I usually try to hard I think to get everything spot on for the first initial sketch. Your book has also inspired me to get my Windsor and Newton W/C's out again 🙂

My dream would be to have enough time to draw and paint for a living, but I wont hold my breath in the mean time. Although the fantasy is a nice one.

My web site just in case your curious is http://indigomoonshine.deviantart.com/.

So a great big thank you from a very huge fan.

Maggie Hawthorne

PS I tried to submit this in the contact section but it would not work

Hello Mr. Howe!! You have a great website and I have REALLY enjoyed looking at your work! You are spectacular and gifted beyond belief! I am a burgeoning artist myself and your work never fails to inspire! Thank you so much! 🙂

Kia ora John Howe!! I am just loving your site and artistic talent! I go through phases of LOTR addiction and was quiet for about a year. Now that summer is coming here in NZ, I have started the LOTR dvds again and watching the appendices. We were at MT Pleasant where 'Edoras' was filmed, and lived not far from the Wellington sites. Your drawings are so ethereal - would be awesome if you held an internation art exhibition?! Bye bye for now and all the best - Kia Kaha!

Hello Mr. Howe! Your work is an inspiration to me as a Tolkien illustrator. I believe you were born in Canada as well. Your drawings are amazing.

Hi John

As ever your newsletters are very interesting and informative. Reading about Edinburgh makes me want to visit it again! Any plans to visit Iran again in the near future?

Hello Mr. Howe, i am your greatest fan.
I enjoy your work TONS, and have gotten a lot of my inspiration from your art. I have some skills in drawing, but in painting, about none. I am working on that part though 🙂 . Thank you for your work!

Hello Mr. Howe! I just watched your interview at TSR, it was quite interesting. I am looking forward to your story!

James Owen, author of Here There be Dragons (a story in which Tolkien is a character) says he is an illustrator who writes, rather than a writer who illustrates, yet his stories are extremely good! You should take a look to those books, perhaps you are another great writer in the same fashion! 😀

Bravo!

Hello Mr. Howe, just wanted to comment on your latest newsletter, about Columbus and the flat world.

It was a great read about an interesting topic. The falseness of both the flat world and the Spanish Inquisition myths does not get enough publicity. 😉

Loved the edge of the world painting!

Hello there Mr. Howe, hereby I feel obliged to thank you for your incredibly ispirational work, it made me choose an art & design master at design-school instead of an online media one.

Thank you!
