Excellent drawings, you are my favorite Tolkien artist, Mr. Howe. Congratulations. 🙂

Oh my... I just discovered your art - and yet I read LOTR some years ago - and I'm completely in love of it. Dragons are my favorite beast and you draw them very very well. Seems I'm going to spend a lot of time on your site 😀 Too bad you don't change some of your drawings into wallpapers (or have I just not already found them on the site ?).

Just saw your Lord of the Brush Doc, loved it and really respected what Mr Lee said about you and yours, it moved me. Keep making the world a more beautiful place to live in, peace and love.

Wow! From the looks of you guestbook I am not the only one from Sweden who watched that documatary!

I think you have a genius way of using the unreality that fantasy art alows you to!

hi John

Mach weiter so. 😀

Falls du meinen Text trotzdem verstanden hast, würde es mich überglücklich machen wenn du mir antworten würdest.

Hi there John!

I just thought that I should drop by and say how much I appreciate your work as an Tolkien illustrator. Recently I saw the documentary "There and Back Again" on Swedish television and it was simply wonderful.

Keep up the good work and take care! 🙂

I attended your conference at Bourgoin last week and was once more amazed by the beauty of your work and your simplicity. Congratulations and go on illustrating Tolkien and others for our (and certainly your) greatest pleasure.

I am doing my GCSE art and John Howe was my chosen artist. I just wanted to say this site was a fantastic resource for the information I needed, so thank you.

I just discovered 'john howe' by total accident!
I was looking for plants for my garden and google 'crown of thorns', and up comes this awesome sketch of the face of Christ with a huge crown of thorns. I completely loved it!

I had to find out who this artist is and I'm hooked. I'm a die hard Tolkian fan as well.
I will pass this site around to other art lovers who love truth and beauty...it's like finding the proverbial pearl!

God bless.

Estimado Sr. Howe:
