Thanks again for your help this morning and really do hope to win the lottery and have you design my Hobbit House. That would be something to tell my Grandchildren!!

Hi, I am a grade eight student. Our teacher assigned us a project today to research a canadian artist. At first i thought that this project would be boring, but then i found you name in my search. Soon I found your site and all your wonderful drawings. I quickly told my teacher that I wanted to research you. We have to write a biography about you and choose one of you works of art to enlargen onto bristol board. I have decided to choose the picture My Angel. I hope you read this and may respond to this at my e-mail. When some of my classmates saw your srt, the wanted to research you too but they wern't allowed. Thanks for reading this!

hello john! I've visited your web site today for the first time, and I know I will come back soon! I would like to can draw like you, but... well, you know what I mean! I didn't know (before today) that you had drawn the cover of the One Volume Edition of The Lord of the Rings (the greatest book in the world), but I think it's one of your most beautiful pictures! really, what you do is fantastic, amazing, wonderful... I don't know any word (english or french) that could describe what I think about your works. I stop to say useless things now. bye!

Mr. Howe, I am in awe of your amazing artwork!

I have been drawing since I was two years old (I'm 18 now), and your work is everything I aspire to. I heard about your work after watching and loving the Lord of the Rings movies, and you are now undoubtedly my favorite artist!

You make me want to take my art more seriously! Thank you!

hi mr. howe,

thanks to you!
last saturday (03.12.'05 i think) you had signed and painted for your fans at the cinemax in zurich.
next monday (12.12.05) i'll give the painting with the bubblefish to my best friend for his birthday, and i think, this is the best gift a can do to him. (my friend has painted the bubbelfish-ballon, but he didn't know for wath..., and it was my idee, that sombody creat a person hows holding it... it's somthing like meeting from artist on a paper-art)

thanks to you (the 2. time in this message.. 😉 )

Wow, the art here is of such a high standard! It is not very often you can find such great fantasy art.
It's such a shame that at college I do not get to study any fantasy artists, though. 😀 I'd be able to do a whole book-full then.
The images are great, and it's fantasic being able to get an enlarged version, too.

You are my idol John. i want to be like you, but in Peru we haven't a good place to get classes of your kind of draw. Autodidactly? maybe, why not?

Dear John

Thanks a lot, that I had the chance to meet you at the movie fair in Zürich last Saturday. It was a great moment and while this I forgot totally to let sign my stuff from you. So, I hope there will be a chance soon somewhere. I wish you already a merry christmas and a happy new year. It's wonderful to have you here in Switzerland.

Greetings

Dear Mr. Howe,

I love your new entry "A LAKE OF LEAD AND A SKY OF PEWTER". I can sooo much relate to the "disappointing in a photograph, impossibble to paint". Sometimes all you can do is look and enjoy and capture it in your memory. I got landscape overdoses recently by all the autumn colors of the trees and leaves.

I am always happy to read your entries and enjoy your mearvellous drawings.

I was quite sad you could not make it to RingCon this year but completely understand why. Hope you and your wife are feeling better. Hope you maybe come next year. 🙂
