hello Mr John Howe,
i have dicovered your drawings for the first time in an exhibition at Paris about the Lord of the Rings. I thought "these are the best pictures i've ever seen about the Lord of the Rings!"
Then i discovered a part of the work you have done on the DVDs of the Lord of the Rings.
I want to congratulate you for your magnific drawings and to thank you because that's you who have made me wanting to make my future job on drawing.
Maybe one day i will have the chance to meet you.
Thank you and i wish you a nice day.
Cecile

PS: please excuse my very bad english...

Hello John,

As a fellow artist I congratulate and admire you on all your success! It is rare in this age that we really get to do what we love, or for that matter find it. I won't say everything that has all ready been said, but I hold you as an inspiration and love your work. I look forward to seeing new work in the future, and someday maybe our paths will meet.

My best, Mindi

Good evening John,
I approve that your beautiful paintings are a masterpeice, and deserve better than to be seen on a computer. My favorite of your paintings is,"The walls of Minas Tirith". I thought it was a magnificant masterpeice, and I would be very much interested in purchasing one of these paintings.
Sincerly, John Sampson

I just finished Robin Hobb's Fool trilogy. I really enjoyed your cover art, because of it I chose to buy all of the Voyager edition volumes. So I really enjoyed seeing all these images here in your gallery.
Thanks for your great work, I am looking forward to seeing more of it on books to come...and to read 😉

Cheers, Christine

Bonjour M. Howe,

Your artwork is absolutely wonderful. I feel like its the closest thing to what I've imagined Tolkien's world to be like. I also love your use of the color and shades of green (my favorite!).

Cheers,
Christen

When I first saw these pictures of middle-earth and Beleriand, I thought I walk through it and see all the nice things tolkien has talking about.
I'm a drawer too but maybe in a life of an elf I'll be half so good like John. Respect for you and maybe we will meet at Middle-earth when I'm dreaming about it! Matthew Johnson
