Hi John,
Great website, thanks for sharing your adventures. I own a deskset made by United Cutlery and the scissors are just beautiful. They have a very distinct design. The stamp on the scissors states "Howe" and I was wondering if you designed these scissors for United Cutlery. The scissors came with a stainless steel ruler and a letter opener in a nice leather case. Do you have any information on this set?
Thanks again, Kelly 🙂

I love your work; it takes me into Tolkien's world. I am finally at age 43 realizing that I have hurt and denied myself my own art...like you I have been able to see and draw since I could pick up a pencil, but all my life have only heard the voices that told me "you can't"...while I will continue to work as a nurse to support myself, I must allow the artist to come out. I thank you, Tolkien (who I believe is an unknown saint) and Jackson's movies for inspiring me to be led out of a Mordor of my own making....thank you....Judy Johnson

Dear John,
Wonderful website! I have a quick question. Your name was listed in a recent mailing newsletter as a special guest at next week's annual San Diego Comic Convention. However, upon checking the con's website, I cannot find your name. Please tell me you are still planning on attending this special event next week. I hope to meet you there. Your work is a true inspiration!

Best wishes,
Kevi-Wan

I always enjoy getting your newsletter, and was really pleased to read the words "Draw Winky" in the last one. There I was expecting a really cool picture from a cool artist of Winky the house elf from Harry Potter!!I now stand corrected!!
Love the site and I`ll remember in future not to "count my chickens"Or something like that!!

Hey!
No harm in signing more than once! I've visited your sight several times since finally finding it. I still haven't run out of things to see.
I really enjoy your news page. Your spontaneous topics (sometimes relating to art in no way whatsoever) always seem to brighten my mood!

Bye for now! Keep writing (not to mention drawing)!
Colleen 😀

Hi John!
It's great to see you have a website!
Ever since I picked up a copy of "Myth and Magic", while furiously hunting and vainly wishing for something "The Lord of the Rings" to appear, I have hoped there was a website out there, somewhere.

I've admired your work for a long while. It always managed to inspire me and make me want to start all over at the same time.

I hope I have finally found a place where I can blab about art without boring everybody around me to death!
Although after hours of "Did you knows?" and "Hey look at this!" I can't say I blame them.

For now, keep up the totally awesome work!
Always a fan,
Colleen

😀 (I couldn't resist!)

This site, as well as your art, is wonderful. I am glad to count you as someone who has continued to inspire me to become an artist; to paint and draw and create that which I can and be a better person because of it. Thank you.

Beautiful, what else can i say. I've admired your work, since i first found out about Arda and its charms.
My favorites (of course) are your wonderful depictions of Middle-Earth, i even got myself Legolas (in Hornburg, but without Gimli) tattooed on my arm... a perfect synthesis of realistic depictions and fantasy... 😀
And a great webpage to boot... keep it up! Love and strenght,
A.

Hi John,
I've been admiring your work forever, and it's great to see you got a site of your own now. Your art is so wonderful (esp. the dragons 🙂 it makes me simultaneoulsy want to throw my drawing pen away in despair, yet pick it up and practise some more. I liked the "Medieval" text a lot, trying to depict long gone worlds with the means of attention to detail and a sense of how things really worked must be hard but interesting labour. Very inspiring!

all the best,
Stella

Good day to John and all the site visitors. I really don't need to say that I am a huge fan of Mr. Howe's illustrations. So big in fact that I've put up a fanlisting for him. 😉
