Amazing Mr.Howe, I would just like to thank you so much for putting all your beautiful drawings, paintings, etc... on here for us to see. You have such an amazing talent and it inspires me with my own drawings and art. My favorite thing you do is the Lord Of The Rings stuff, and you've really brought it to life on paper so beautifully. You're my favorite artist and I love the life you bring to any work you do. You are truly amazing.

John-

Thanks for this website! I love your work. Just curious, as someone who might be described as a "genre" artist, do you have an appreciation for other genres, such as "space" art? I happen to be a big fan of Alan Bean: www.alanbeangallery.com

Your art has been an enormous impact on me and my attempt to prompt those around me to draw. 🙂 I would love to see the processess you go through in creating a finished artwork- from sketch to watercolour painting. Keep imagining mate.

Always appreciate a Talented Artist, especially a famous one. You inspire and have sparked something inside me that has been smouldering for some time now. I might never become famous, but I will always drag a pencil and keep on sketching until the end of my days!

🙂 I am a young aspiring artist, and, I really admire your work.

The image of Smaug always caught my fancy, and it never gets old :).

I think of you as an inspiration, both as a Canadian-born artist, and one who made his way into concept art from an illustration career. I'd love to work as a concept art, and as a book cover illustrator when I get better.

Your level of detail in your work is amazing. I also admire the weight and realism in Smaug's tail and spines on the Hobbit's cover as he coils around his hoard 😀 🙂

Dear sir,

being French I am quite sorry to learn your misadventure in my country. Stealing art is a great sport in Europe!

I am a great fan of yours, especialy your Lord of The Ring related paintings and sketchs. I remember looking at the extended dvd bonus (I was very young then, but already spending more time drawing and reading than studying) and crying in the end, angry to be too young, too inexperienced and too french to have been part of this adventure.

One day I'll avenge myself by buying one of your paintings if I can.

Please take care, and continue the great inspiring work!

Non-stealing-french-hugs!

Good evening Mr. Howe

I visited an exhibition of your paintings in Yverdon (If I am right) like 15 years ago. I didn't know you had a page and just stumbled over it.

Even now, I recall admiring your paintings as if it would have been yesterday.

Keep up the good work.

Regards

I have always loved your work, It's greatly inspiring to see drawings so full beauty. I am a budding artist you might say and I have admired your work for a while. As soon as I read Tolkien's books a was swept away. There was a richness and beauty and deep passion that seemed to somehow surround it. I am really thankfull that you have such a wonderful website and that fans can learn and fully dip into your tremendous works.
Thank you.
