Early sketches for Rohirrim gear.
I am particularly proud of the little horse's head that decorates the base of the axe blade (which of course you can't see at this size, so you'll have to take my word for it...). Little elements of like nature suddenly take on a culture-defining dimension of their own, and a whole design concept can be sparked by some tiny detail.
