Why on earth Del Ray piled so many text blocks and so much copy on their covers is beyond me. The covers look more like racing cars than books. (And that huge number branded right in the middle... who WAS that layout artist?) The whole thing is so confused that you almost feel like putting a plain wrapper over it.
Actually, come to think of it, the chamfrein with horns was lifted from the back cover of Robert Foster's Guide to Middle-Earth, adding to the general clutter.
