THE AMBER SPYGLASS 2001 I was of course terribly excited to be doing a cover for the Philip Pullman novel The Amber Spyglass. His stories are wonderfully imaginative, disconcerting and visually extraordinary. Alas, the painting was turned down. So, I did another one. It got turned down too.
