I made the terrible error of doing a colour sketch for this cover, something I very very rarely do. I spent the whole time doing with original with the colour sketch propped up beside me - a nightmare. I am incapable of keeping to the colour scheme of a small sketch, and am not patricularly happy with the result. There is no depth, the hobbits might as well be looking at a wall poster... But I have learned a valuable lesson: no more colour sketches! Gollum's okay, though, and Mordor rocks are always fun to paint.
