Gallimard did the French editions of the incredibly popular role-playing paperbacks that enjoyed an intense if brief minute in the spotlight in the late '80's. I believe there were 7 titles alltogether, to be done one or two at a time over a period of a year or so. They take place in a very derivative world, and I ended up doing very derivative paintings - my first comissioned foray into the fantasy role-playing world. The armour (it belongs to a friend) has since become a regular prop. The landscape is along the Rhine near Strasbourg.
